Christ’s Light Prevails in Her Season of Darkness

Have you ever heard of a condition called Seasonal Affective Disorder, a.k.a. “SAD”? People with SAD suffer from mood fluctuation caused by the changing seasons—most often in the dark and dreary winter. With the absence of sunlight in the colder months, energy dips and depression can sneak in.

For those who feel the presence of spiritual or emotional darkness in life, it’s up to us as parents and spiritual role models to remind them that no matter how hard the darkness is, Christ’s light prevails. Point her to the Book of Isaiah where it reads: “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom, a light has shone.”
