While playing with another neighborhood friend, you overhear your girl say “If you don’t follow Jesus, you’re NOT getting into heaven and that means you DON’T have God’s love.” Whoa, whoa, whoa—let’s pump the brakes for her.  

If your girl has been raised with the word “gospel” as a staple of family life, you’re not necessarily in the clear of her “getting it.” To that end NONE of us have it down 100%! But how can your mature wisdom guide her gospel understanding so she doesn’t lord it over others who are unbelievers?  

Take your girl to 1 Corinthians 1:31 cultivating humility in her heart that Christ is our only boast. Our job is open the gospel door in grace and kindness to those who don’t yet believe.
