“God bless America, land that I love…” In a time where love and loyalty to one’s country carries with it much complexity, how does your girl understand her place as a Godly citizen of this nation? Is she happy to give the Pledge of Allegiance? Is she apprehensive about singing patriotic songs? She might be wrestling with her citizenship alongside her identity as a Christ-follower.

Can patriotism and discipleship coexist?  YES, we can have a healthy view of both.  

Guide your girl well by talking about history—all of it—even the tough seasons. Help her to see God’s sovereign hand protecting and leading those who worship Him. Lead her to serve those who have sacrificed for our freedom. Affirm her love for both God and Country, praying “God bless America!” along the way!
