Why Purity Begins in the Mind Before Any Other Action

As your girl ages through the years, attractions to extrinsic things change—from stuffed animals and coloring sheets to relationships and dating. With our culture pressuring children into premature dating relationships, how do you guide your girl into maintaining spiritual and physical purity?

Keep open conversations with her about a pure thought life. Second Corinthians 10:5 declares we must “take every thought captive”. The Bible encourages us that she will not walk this road alone. The Holy Spirit is with her to both convict and gently guide her as the various cultural tugs grow stronger.

If she shares her struggles with an impure thought life or interactions that broke physical boundaries, take a deep breath. Pray for the Lord’s compassion. Remind her of God’s forgiveness, and walk with her as she heals.
