When Your Girl is the Bully

It is devastating for parents to find out their daughter is being bullied. When we sense we haven’t done our job to protect her, we feel we’ve let her down. But how are we to feel when we learn our girl was the bully?

Finding out that your child is causing someone else emotional, mental, or physical harm can be shocking. But it’s vital not to dwell in this space of surprise. As her parent, it’s up to you to confront the issue head-on and put an end to the bullying. Partner with her school to enact a consistent disciplinary plan and consider additional ways to correct the behavior at home.

Finally, guide your girl to pray for forgiveness. We are all sinners who sin in different ways, and it’s important to remind your girl that despite her actions, there is forgiveness at the foot of the cross.
