When Your Girl is Obsessed with Fitting In

We’re all familiar with a girl’s agonizing morning routine. Locked away in the family bathroom, your girl primps until she feels “just right”. Have you ever questioned why she spends so much time getting ready each day? Chances are, your girl is worried about fitting in.

When we strive to “fit in” we lose our own sense of self. Instead, guide your girl to desire a sense of belonging. To belong is to be accepted for who you truly are—which is exactly how we are loved by God. Paul’s Letter to the Romans instructs us to “Accept one another… just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.”

Take every chance to celebrate your daughter’s God-given individuality. When we recognize and instill the value of being different in our girls, we are celebrating God’s creation of humanity.
