When the Issue of Absolute Truth Comes to Your Home

Have you ever heard your girl utter the phrase “well, that’s my truth!”? Oh how those words can frustrate a parent, especially in circumstances where “her truth” is in direct contrast to the actual truth.

It might sound silly, but could she truly be confusing her opinion with actual fact? These days, our world has a hard time deciphering the difference perception and reality. One need only log onto social media to see the muddling between fact and fiction.

As followers of Christ, we rely on the Bible as the place of comfort and teaching, and capital-T Truth. Scripture is, after all, “God-breathed” as Second Timothy puts it. Next time your girl declares “her truth”, remind her that there is but one source of real Truth—and alignment with His Word is the true test of certainty.

2 Timothy 3:16
