When the Godly Girl Prays Rather Than Seeking Revenge

When we are wronged, it’s difficult to move forward without desiring even the slightest bit of revenge.

At one point or another, your daughter will seek revenge. Maybe she’s pushed by someone on the playground, or a classmate cheats from her test. No matter the issue, she may want to retaliate.

How do you navigate teaching your girl to stand up for what’s right while refraining from “getting even?”

Teach your girl emotional coping skills like pausing in a frustrating moment, confiding in a trusted adult, and possibly the hardest part … praying for the person who wronged her. Take her to these words in Romans, “Do not take revenge, my dear friends … ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay says the Lord’”
