When God Calls Your Girl to Something Out of Her Reach

There’s a saying that’s been popular on Pinterest boards for years—“she believed she could, and so she did.” While it’s the anthem statement for empowering girls to chase their dreams, might it seem a little misleading. What if, instead, we change that to “She believed she could, and so capital-H He did!”

Luke 1:45 recounts the exchange between Mary and her cousin, Elizabeth. Elizabeth, overcome with joy, proclaims “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

What has the Lord promised to your girl? What has He called her to? In the midst of goal-setting, life-planning, and self-discovery, your girl may find He’s calling her to something that feels out of reach. But remind her who is ultimately in the driver’s seat—He is encouraging her and enabling her to make it happen!
