What Parents Need to Know About Social Media Challenges

Remember when “social media challenges” actually resulted in some good? Like dumping a bucket of ice water and making a donation to a worthy cause. Today, kids are doing some of the most cringe-worthy things just to garner likes, often toeing the thin line between pranking and bullying.

As parents to an image-obsessed generation, it’s important that you’re aware of the social media challenges girls are seeing online. Ask your daughter about what she thinks of the viral trends, and offer some grown-up insight by addressing any concerns you might have. A Biblical worldview can help her recognize signs of wrong-doing before it happens.

When done in good fun, challenges can be harmless, but being able to recognize when it’s heading in the wrong direction is a vital skill for your Godly girl.
