The Best Way to Handle Social Media is to Take a Break

Kids and adults alike have a strong addiction to their smartphones and social media. We spend hours in a lonely pursuit of checking notifications, playing games, posting on social media. The endless scrolling is mindlessly sucking up our time. What could your daughter do with an extra hour each day? Together, work toward discovering a new, intentional hobby—like baking or roller blading.

Consider kick-starting the screen-free time with a social media fast. Seek input from your girl and plan hour-long family and individual activities that everyone can enjoy. Ask your daughter what she learned about herself during her phone-free time. Close your day with prayer and gratitude for the time spent together.
