Piggyback rides. Bubble-blowing contests. Belting out mis-heard song lyrics. If your girl has a silly dad, these might be the norm in your family. A healthy dad-daughter relationship will naturally carry with it traditions—some silly, some sentimental—that your girl shares with her beloved daddy.
Jesus extended the heart of God through a love for the simplicity of childhood and their honest faith. Like the open arms of a good daddy bear hug, a healthy father-daughter relationship is a snapshot of our safe relationship in God’s arms.
Even into your girl’s adult years, whatever dad-traditions they share will remain special. When his back is not as straight, when bubble gum and dentures don’t mix, or the singing voice fades, your girl’s solid father relationship will still resound.
Matthew 19:14
