Raising a Daughter Who Offers Forgiveness

How many times have you uttered the phrase “I accept your apology,” to someone, but you didn’t truly mean it? Forgiveness doesn’t always come naturally to us, yet numerous Scriptures focus on the need to forgive.

Your daughter may struggle to forgive the friend who treated her poorly, or her sibling for not sharing their toys. Or, your girl may struggle to forgive herself for feeling like she always messes up.

Paul told the Ephesians: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Encourage forgiveness in your home by being quick to forgive. Rather than shame or fault, extend grace and love—goodness knows we all need a little more of that.
