Make Fellowship with God Your Girl’s Secret Place

The secret place—as a child, it was a fort. As a college student, it was the study desk nestled in the stacks at the library. As a parent, it might be the floor of your pantry where you can hide and eat cookies in peace. We all have our favorite places to escape—but here’s one more secret place for you to find retreat: your relationship with God.

Throughout Scripture, Jesus and his apostles reference fellowship with God as the “secret place”. Matthew 6 and Psalm 91 both state that the presence of God is a “secret place”.

Guide your girl to view her relationship with her Creator as a safe haven. Through your actions, like meditative prayer or quiet morning devotional time, show her that time spent with Him can be a true respite.
