Love Her Like God Does—Unconditionally

I’ve heard it said “Many people pleasers started out as parent pleasers.” As women, it’s so common to feel this urge to appease everyone, even at the cost of yourself. But we know this kind of people pleasing is unsustainable.

The difference between doing selfless acts and being a people pleaser ultimately comes down to the root cause of the action. A servant-hearted person gives honestly, but a people pleaser does so to gain the affection of others.

Be conscious of your daughter’s parent pleasing. In difficult moments, affirm that she is loved and cherished no matter what. Remind her that always making her bed or getting the highest grade in class isn’t why you love her. She doesn’t need to earn your love, you love her unconditionally…and God does too!
