In Hard Conversations, Keep Anger Out of It

It can be incredibly frustrating to have a conversation with someone who has a different opinion than you—now imagine that person is your daughter!

As our girls age, they can mature into having new opinions and perspectives…it’s part of growing up! Before you jump to anger and frustration with your girl and her newfound opinion, remember the words of James 1:19-20: “My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.”

Remember: no one ever changed their opinion after getting yelled at. Open a dialogue and have the important conversations with your daughter in a space free from anger.
