This holiday season, take time to instill selflessness and a love of giving in your girl.  Spend time together making something for friends, from home-baked goods to cards or craft projects. Adding a favorite bible verse to a small ornament or candy cane to share with others can brighten their day.

The Book of Proverbs says, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” Make giving a priority in your family. Model the behavior and celebrate it!  Help your girl to understand how God is using her in this moment to love others.

Actively participating in the service of giving helps to make her faith personal and strong. Small seeds that are sown now will flourish as she grows older, refreshing her life.
