How to Break the Binge-Watching Cycle

I recently heard it said “We can’t watch TV for three hours then read the Bible for three minutes and expect to grow spiritually.”

How often do you feel your family falling into the binge-watching trap? It can be an incredibly difficult cycle to break—especially when auto-play immediately queues up the next episode. While streaming a new show can be a relaxing escape from the hustle of the everyday, might we be stunting ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually?

Total up the time you each spent streaming this week and talk through ways you might lower this “stream-time” together as a family. Walk the dog, play a board game, do some Bible journaling—just remember, when the TV asks “are you still watching?” be sure to say “NO”!
