How the Frequency Illusion Keeps Us from Seeing the Lord Clearly

Frequency illusions are described as a form of cognitive bias by scientists. The basic principle is this—once you decide something is important, like the model of car you drive, you start to notice the same car everywhere. Since the human brain likes patterns, we start to recognize the similarities around us.

But are coincidences always just coincidences? From a Christian perspective, coincidences can be difficult to interpret. What might be viewed as a happenstance could actually be the Holy Spirit guiding your girl toward something or someone important.

The crucial step here is discernment. When we guide our girls toward a strong relationship with God and spirit of discernment she can better interpret what God is leading her to, and what may indeed be just a frequency illusion!
