Hormones are God’s Design not Your Girl’s Enemy

What does your girl know about her hormones? Knowing how her body functions and why she feels certain emotions is vital to a healthy understanding of herself.

There are four common hormones that regulate our mood: dopamine, the reward chemical, oxytocin, the love hormone, serotonin, the mood stabilizer, and endorphins, the pain killers. These make up what some call the “emotional tool kit.”

If your girl is experiencing worry in the midst of difficulty, work together to build up her “emotional tool kit.” Great news! These four components of the “emotional tool kit” were given to us by God, and our bodies release these hormones when we do God-honoring things, like serving others, praying, and caring for our bodies through exercise!
