Here’s How to Keep an Open Line of Communication with Your Girl

When’s the last time you said to your daughter “You can tell me anything.” While you rack your brain, I’ll let you in on a little secret: if you can’t remember the last time you said it, your daughter doesn’t either.

Reminding our kids on a consistent basis that they can openly confess their questions, doubts, problems, and joys to us is the only way to maintain a culture of sin confession rather than sin concealment.

Proverbs tells us “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” Today, remind your daughter that she can tell you anything, just make sure you mean it. Be ready to confront sin head-on while maintaining a spirit of mercy, just as the Father instructs us.
