Guard Your Girl Against “Tricky People” Online

The traditional notion of “stranger danger” struck fear in the minds of parents and children alike when teaching children to recognize and avoid danger. By contrast, research shows that those who seek to harm children often develop a trust relationship with the child. These “friendly” adults are often called “Tricky People.”

By teaching your girl about “Tricky People” you activate her senses to spot manipulation at its root. Words like “secret” or “surprise” could hold an unsafe interaction. Keeping an ongoing conversation with her ensures her comfort to disclose anything she might experience.

Pray for the Lord’s wisdom and courage to craft a family culture that protects against “Tricky People” accessing your girl online or in person. These mindful steps will safeguard her innocent heart.
