Establish and Protect Regular Time on the Calendar with Your Girl

How are those mom-daughter conversations going lately? Maybe your girl bubbles over with an excited report of her dance class happenings, or maybe you’re noticing her quieting rather than processing friendship issues aloud. Depending on her age stage, you might soon notice changes in the frequency and depth of conversations.

Most parents ache for open conversation with their kids. There’s a reason for this! This connection is inherent in our God-given charge in Deuteronomy 6 to teach our children diligently in EVERY area of our lives.

So if you’re feeling concerned about a distance between your girl and you, pray for her to have an open heart, to seek the Lord’s wisdom through you, and then put some mother-daughter chat time on the calendar!
