Counter Her Shame of Sin with the Hope of Romans 8:1

Ever thought of how closely your girl identifies with Eve from Genesis? When your girl sins, what’s her next move? To hide, right? Whether she tells a lie, breaks a lamp, colors on the wall, or sneaks in past curfew—shame takes hold and tells her to hide her sin.

But a rich relationship with the Lord is marked by confident openness and repentant love. Jesus’ work on the cross was precisely to break the hold of shame on the sinner’s heart. But why doesn’t a redeemed sinner have to hide anymore? Because the Lord is remaking the redeemed into His image and changing their habits.

The same applies to your girl! Have her memorize Romans 8:1 in confidence—Jesus doesn’t place shame on her, and the Holy Spirit is making her new.
