Authority and Generation Z

There was a time when respecting authority was simple. Just do it. But today’s youth view authority through a different lens and often question whether they need authority figures at all.

What is your daughter’s take on respecting authority? Her teachers, coaches, you as her parent? Does she have consequences for being disrespectful?

God’s design is for your girl’s position on respecting authority to be shaped at home. Several places in scripture point to the commandment, “children obey your parents.” And in Ephesians, it says, “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.”

Seek the Lord about ways to lovingly and firmly train and instruct your girl to respect you and other authorities in her life.
