Are You Teaching Your Girl to Encourage or Discourage Her Peers?

Does your girl encourage or discourage her peers? Is she the “Debbie Downer” or the silver lining seeker of her friend group? We know our girls have learned personality traits, along with their innermost selves. Might your girl be learning to constantly seek out the negative through your actions, peppering her young, sweet spirit with learned negativity?

A Godly girl is one who lives in the hope of Christ. To live in hope is to seek out the joy in today and expect the good in tomorrow. In Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians, we read “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.”

Adopt a spirit of encouragement in your home. Share “God winks,” affirmation, and silver linings—especially on difficult days.
