Anchor Compliments in Your Girl’s Core Truth

Have you noticed the common reaction to a baby or toddler girl? No matter what nice thing is said, it usually has something to do with her appearance. “Aw, she’s so cute” and “What a beautiful girl!” are appreciated by new parents. But as she grows, what if the compliments never get to the heart of the girl?  

Whether it’s your girl, or any girl who you influence, when you speak over her life, seek to acknowledge core attributes like her intelligence, resilience, or the Fruit of the Spirit in her life. While it might catch her off guard, what carries with your girl will last well past that moment.  

Proverbs speaks about the overflowing joy that comes through words well-spoken—words that speak life, edify, and get past the surface of pretty compliments.
