Advent Family Traditions and The Jesse Tree

Traditionally, America has celebrated the Christmas holiday from December 20th through 31st, but holiday decorations go up much sooner—sometimes before Thanksgiving! If your Christian family is looking to make the season more than just a decorating fanfare or a two-week blitz of sugar-coated parties, consider making the most of the Advent season with a Jesse Tree.

Isaiah 11 speaks of God sending a Divine One through the family line of King David’s father, Jesse—this is JESUS! So, a Jesse Tree gives your family a chance to add one ornament for the 24 days leading up to Christmas paired with a Bible passage tracking God’s promise from Genesis through John.

Your girl might enjoy making ornaments, adding one to the tree each night, or reading the Bible passage aloud to the family!
