A Guide to Developing Deeper One-on-One Conversations

Do you find it difficult to get your daughter to open up to you? It can be hard to parent a daughter who isn’t emotionally available…especially when you know something’s off, but you just can’t get her to open up.  

If you have dreams of deep conversations with your daughter, but your reality is short, disconnected interactions, know that you aren’t alone. Her personality and your relationship will change over time, and with it, you will continuously develop your communication style together. 

If you find it difficult to get a conversation going with your daughter, consider asking questions about school or boys while her friends are around. Friends are typically quick to pipe in, and it can get the ball rolling for a one-on-one conversation later.
