Why Self-Awareness is Key in Your Girl’s Spiritual Growth

Is your girl aware of her strengths AND her weaknesses? It is tough to watch her fumble rather than adapting through hardship or denying a need to receive feedback and make a change—your outside perspective is much clearer than her self-awareness.

The famous leadership thinker, John C. Maxwell, was once asked what his greatest challenge was as a leader. His reply—“leading me!” Self-awareness is key to growth in your girl.

A key step in this process—Biblical humility. First Peter 5:6 draws an interesting tension between being brought low and being lifted up by the Lord. Whether by God’s sovereign working, or by your specific feedback, it can be life-giving to remind her “Honey, this isn’t about you right now.” Watch her transform into Christ’s likeness and shine for His kingdom.

1 Peter 5:6
