Feeling overwhelmed is a natural part of life for any girl—school can be stressful, a messy room can feel daunting, and a fight with your best friend can feel catastrophic. Part of growing up is recognizing the weight of our responsibilities and our commitments. Feeling consistently overwhelmed though, that’s a sign of a deeper issue.
If your girl is experiencing a constant state of overwhelm, seek out ways to calm her and bring her back to the present. Christian counseling or medical intervention is an important avenue to explore when faced with a mental health condition like anxiety.
Next time your daughter is overwhelmed, seek help and remind her of the words of Psalm 142:3 “When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who watch over my way.”
