Have you ever attended a birthday party and witnessed a child shredding the wrapping paper and opening everything without so much as a ‘thank you’ between gifts? It can be difficult to witness such a lack of gratitude in someone so young.
It’s our duty to instill a sense of thankfulness in our girls. Gratitude comes from a place of understanding. Does your girl have a wide-angle view of all she has compared to children around the world? Establishing empathy is an important component to raising a thankful child.
Of course, the greatest gift we’ve been given is that of redemption through Jesus. For that we should all exemplify eternal gratitude! First Chronicles instructs us “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
