Has your girl cried recently? Tears at the end of a heartwarming movie, releasing frustration through crying, and eyes glistening with joy—all are so good for both the body and the mind. The phrase “a good cry” holds some surprising health benefits!
Crying activates a part of the nervous system that brings the body back into peace. It signals the need for empathy, so your girl might need a hug or unbroken eye contact. Crying also sheds stress hormones like Cortisol, which can stack up in negative ways over time.
Often in the Psalms, when David cried out to the Lord—in fear, in anger, or in stark joy—the Lord met him in that moment. Your girl, too, is wired similarly, and God will meet her cries.
Psalm 18:6
