American Heritage Girls is an interdenominational organization that desires to come alongside Christian ministry partners to accomplish Kingdom goals. AHG enjoys endorsements from a number of Christian denominations and is continuing to link arms with the Church through relationship building.

Endorsement of the AHG Program

Protestant CHURCHeS

  • The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod
    On May 14, 2014, the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) extended a Memorandum of Understanding to American Heritage Girls (AHG). According to the MOU, AHG will partner with the local LCMS church to “assist and support girls through spiritual development, life skill enhancement, development of teamwork, social skills, girl leadership skills while building confidence and discovering their identity in Christ.”
  • Presbyterian Church in America
    AHG enjoys the level of support from the PCA Church known as “Staff Recommendation.” This recommendation comes from the Committee on Discipleship Ministries, Dr. Stephen Estock, Coordinator.
  • Original Free Will Baptist Churches
    American Heritage Girls and the Original Free Will Baptist Church signed a Memorandum of Mutual Support in 2010. The OFWB Church and AHG have agreed to work together in establishing AHG Troops as a ministry outreach opportunity for the church.
  • Calvary Chapel Chino Hills
    In 2024, Pastor Jack Hibbs endorsed American Heritage Girls saying “[AHG] is not an alternative to [other scouting programs], it is a completely Christ-centered, absolutely Spirit-filled ministry.”

  • AHG National Catholic Committee
    The mission of the AHG National Catholic Committee is to support American Heritage Girls, Inc. while promoting and providing for the growth and spiritual development of its Catholic Members, in fidelity to the magisterium of the Catholic Church, and to act as the liaison between AHG, Inc. and the Catholic Church.

  • The Diocese of Birmingham
    In November 2014, the Most Reverend Robert Baker, Bishop of Birmingham, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Diocese of Birmingham and American Heritage Girls.
  • The Archdiocese of Cincinnati
    In August 2024, the Most Reverend Dennis Schnurr, Archbishop of Cincinnati, wrote a letter of endorsement for the American Heritage Girls Program.
  • The Diocese of Colorado Springs
    In June 2015, Bishop Michael Sheridan of the Diocese of Colorado Springs wrote a letter of endorsement for the American Heritage Girls Program.
  • The Diocese of Ft. Worth
    In March 2015, the Most Reverend Michael F. Olson, Bishop of Ft. Worth, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Diocese of Ft. Worth and American Heritage Girls.
  • The Archdiocese of Kansas City
    On May 1, 2017, Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann announced the transition from hosting Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) troops to chartering American Heritage Girls (AHG) Troops in the Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kansas.
  • The Diocese of Lincoln
    Rev. James D. Conley Bishop of Lincoln offered his endorsement of the American Heritage Girls Program in July of 2017.
  • The Archdiocese of Milwaukee
    Most Reverend Jerome E. Listecki, Archbishop of Milwaukee, wrote a letter of support stating that AHG is a an effective setting for girls and young women to develop skills, build character and grow in their faith.
  • The Archdiocese of Omaha
    Most Reverend George J. Lucas, Archbishop of Omaha, wrote a letter of support stating that AHG is a wonderful resource to aid parishes in forming young girls into faithful women of God, committed to a life of faith, service, and love.
  • The Diocese of Rockford
    In May 2011, The Most Reverend Thomas G. Doran, Bishop of Rockford, wrote a letter of endorsement for the American Heritage Girls Program within the Diocese of Rockford in Rockford, IL.
  • The Archdiocese of St. Louis
    In March 2014, the Archdiocese of St. Louis released a statement encouraging support of faith-based organizations for girls, including American Heritage Girls. Another letter of endorsement from the Archdiocese came out in November 2014.

Become a Ministry Partner

Charter Organizations serve a crucial role in the AHG Ministry, as they own and operate AHG Troops. Though volunteers implement the AHG Program, Charter Organizations can customize their Troop to best accomplish their ministry goals.
