Why Meekness is Not a Weakness for Your Girl

Is your girl a rule-follower? She takes both security and joy in following a good rule. While this likely makes her a delight in your home, how do you handle the first day she is called a “goody-two-shoes”, or as a teen when someone insults her as the “Christian Crutch”? The world calls meekness, or obedience, as weakness when it comes to following God.

Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible. We see God valuing obedience, a heart that longs for righteousness. Words like “laws”, “commands”, and “instructions” pepper the chapter. It’s no surprise the world has a strong disdain for a meek heart.

Appeal to your girl’s identity as a Christ-follower not a world-follower when stinging insults land. Pray for her to walk faithfully in strength and meekness all her days.

Psalm 119, Matthew 6:33
