Teaching Your Girl that Words Matter, Choose Wisely

Having the last word, the hot take, or the good comeback seemingly drives our communication these days, especially online. Society elevates the one who can render another speechless by their sarcasm or cleverness.

These days, “salty” has some fun connotations–namely a “salty person” has some “sass” or “fire” about her. But in the early church, to speak words that were “seasoned with salt” meant to be “full of grace” as Paul writes in Colossians 4:6.

What we say and how we say it matters, now and into eternity. If you’re committed to representing Christ well, it might be time for an overhaul in your words. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s gentle conviction over your speech. He is faithful to bring “His Kingdom come” into even the smallest area of your life.
