As Wind Strengthens Trees, Adversity Builds Resilience

An experiment of the 1990s called “Biosphere 2” held the promise of transforming the Arizona desert into a lush world for possible human habitation. The early phases showed all the signs of spring vitality! But over a short time, the trees toppled before they reached their full height. How could this have happened in such an ideal environment? No wind. The trees had shallow root systems, so they had not been prepared through the adversity of regular winds. Their ideal became their downfall—literally.

Your girl NEEDS adversity. A comfortable, idyllic life doesn’t serve her as a Godly woman, or as a leader. As you lead her, help her lean into uncomfortable times, the heartbreak, the embarrassing mistakes—each is an opportunity to learn trust and resilience in the Lord’s power, not her own.

Philippians 4:11-13
