Did you know that in some world religions, people have to clap, ring bells, or shout to get the attention of the idols they worship? It’s true! Observing these rituals can strike a pang of sadness in a Christian’s heart—and rightly so, the whole process feels so….pointless.
Whether she realizes it or not, does your girl trust that God is so near that even the slightest whispered prayer is clearly hear by Him? The late theologian, A.W. Tozer reminded us of this when he said that God is “nearer than our own soul, closer than our most secret thoughts.”
If your girl thinks every prayer needs to include kneeling knees, folded hands, or a specific script, remind her that God hears all and desires closeness with her in prayer—no shouting needed.
