Want to hear a hard truth? We’re needy. You, me, your girl—there’s nothing we can do apart from God’s help! But what might your girl be missing in her prayer life if she only approaches God with an ask list?
It’s true that Philippians says to “let your requests be made known to God,” but what comes before that is vital. When your girl prays, her requests should come from a place of gratitude. Gratitude naturally springs from a heart deeply connected to her Provider, the Lord. So how does she connect to the Lord?
Teach her to intentionally spend time praying through the attributes of God—His inherent goodness, justice, wisdom, faithfulness, and love. In this way, she will fall in love with the One who can meet all her needs.
Philippians 4:6, ESV
