After the busyness of the summer and settling into a new school year, Thanksgiving is a reminder to pause and reset. Beyond being a time for gathering, good food, and elastic waistbands, Thanksgiving provides an opportunity to focus on gratitude.
Consider how your family can integrate Scripture into your holiday gathering. Start with a special prayer of gratitude before the big meal. While the family is in a reflective mindset, pass around a jar with pre-written Bible verses that speak to thanksgiving. Have everyone read a verse aloud and share what they are most thankful for this year.
One of my favorite verses is from Chronicles 16:34 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
End your meal with full tummies and renewed hearts!
