A Rooted Faith Must Undergo Seasons of Earnest Doubt

For Christian girls growing up in a faith-filled household, one of the scariest feelings is that of unbelief. In times of crisis, difficulty, or questioning, many have a tendency to slip into feelings of doubt. Even the disciples, who saw Jesus with their very eyes, expressed disbelief.

If your girl identifies as a “Doubting Thomas”, reassure her that faith is something that must undergo personal investigation. A faith that is untested, unquestioned, and undoubted is likely one without real roots.

The key to successfully navigating doubt is taking on the hard work. Commit to disciple your girl in her faith exploration. Encourage her to truly study the Bible and its historical relevance, stay close to God through dedicated prayer, and ask tough questions. This honing will surely result in a deepened, reliable faith.
