If you’re a millennial mom, chances are you rocked a “WWJD” bracelet back in your day. Youth Groups spanning Christian denominations popularized the phrase “What Would Jesus Do?” taking it from a question asked in church to conversations in school hallways across the nation. Today, there’s a new evangelization effort targeting youth—“He Gets Us”.
For generations, teens have felt misunderstood. Today’s youth especially struggle with issues of identity, mental wellness, and friendship. To recognize Jesus as the loving God who understands all of His people is a powerful way to bring the gospel to our teens who might be struggling.
This Sunday, instead of focusing on the perfect family outfits for church, talk about what you’re going to lay down at the feet of Jesus. Your honest vulnerability might help her see what things she can bring to “He Who Gets Us.”
