If you’ve ever argued with your toddler girl over her insistence to wear the princess costume to the grocery store, you know it’s an exercise in futility. Does “pick your battles” sound familiar? Your girl as a toddler will circle back to a similar phase as a teenager—the arguing comes again, just over different issues.
Not every child is naturally wired in meekness, and that’s okay. But she can learn this state of heart—sometimes by you letting her be wrong. You heard correctly—it’s okay to let a teen girl be wrong rather than argue with her!
Mistakes do not define your girl; they refine her heart. So let her learn through experiencing the consequences of her choices. Turning back to the Lord is a precious moment—allow her to live it out.
