Have you ever considered that your girl’s spiritual growth follows the life of a windmill?
The windmill only moves to generate productive things when the wind’s friction meets its tall stature. As sweeping winds churn the windmill’s blades, it pumps water up from the ground or generates power for electricity. In the strongest of storms, it may seem the windmill will topple over, disintegrating into pieces across the countryside. But anchored deep into the soil, the windmill stands firm, continuing to perform the duties for which it was designed.
When she fails a test, falls on the soccer field, gossips instead of prays—these are the times your girl can anchor into the Holy Spirit’s work in her heart. Outwardly it appears she’s “wasting away” but inwardly, the Lord is renewing her day by day.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
