What if Stargazing is the Exact Prescription Your Girl Needs?

When’s the last time you stared at the majesty of the night sky? Psalm 147 tells us “He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.” Here in America, Mauna Kea*, Bryce Canyon, Denali, and Glacier have been ranked the best places view God’s masterful, beloved creation.

If your girl is living a stressed-out, over-scheduled, and screen-heavy life, time in nature may be just the cure she needs. Research shows that getting out into nature reduces cortisol, the stress hormone, levels in the body. Stargazing, specifically, offers girls a chance to eliminate artificial light and reconnect with their natural rhythms.

Plan an evening with your daughter, just one-on-one, to observe the beauty of God’s starry creation. Together you can take in the sights and enjoy some quiet, connective time.
