Warn Her Against the “I Can Handle This Myself” Heart

Is your girl quick to ask for help? Or does she try to manage on her own strength? As one who cares deeply for her heart, it can be painstakingly hard to watch her struggle or fail, knowing there is a better way. 

In Mark 9:24, a man offers the humble example of crying out for help to Jesus, knowing he has no tools to help his situation. Jesus abundantly blessed the man’s life with a miracle simply because he turned to God for help! 

As your girl’s primary discipler, affirm each time she recognizes that she can’t save herself or ultimately improve her life, apart from God’s help. This affirmation redirects her view from “I can’t” to “God can”.
