Understanding the Bible’s Place in Faith Deconstruction

If your girl comes home from a friend’s house saying, “their family says they’re spiritual but not religious anymore. What’s that mean?” then you have a kitchen-table-conversation opportunity!

Rejecting “organized religion.” Faith exodus. Ex-vangelical. These terms are quite common today surrounding the idea of deconstruction. New to this term? Deconstruction is a cultural term stemmed in questioning one’s faith and often rejecting a Biblical Worldview.

In talking with your girl about deconstruction, anchor on the importance of Scripture’s validity as the inerrant Word of God. Pray for the Holy Spirit to maintain a sound mind in both you and her. And guide your girl to stand confidently on the REAL faith she has in God, to then love her friend’s family as you share the true Gospel Message with them.
