Does your girl play an instrument? Piano, violin, guitar—they all need to be tuned precisely to play well. Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” doesn’t harmonize when the F sharp note hits a bit wonky! Just as an instrument is designed to play in tune, your girl’s heart must find the frequency of the Holy Spirit’s voice reflect the light of Christ in her life.
How can she refine this connection to His voice? Foundationally, she must make the Bible and prayer a daily norm, making silent space for discerning the Lord’s voice. Now, the level-up factor will be putting her in a situation where she must persevere.
As soon as she hits a “wrong note”—or veers away from God—she’ll recognize, adjust, and retune her heart back to His precious voice.
Galatians 5:25
