A 2019 study found that 70% of teens 13 to 17 believe ‘anxiety and depression’ to be a major problem among their peers. Add in the recurring threat of illness, discord, and unrest seen more recently and one can rightfully assume that number must be even higher today.
Parents must learn how to identify the warning signs. Excessive nervousness or worrying, sudden change in sleep habits or appetite, and chronic headaches or stomachaches are some of the most popular signs of anxiety among girls.
Equip your girl with the 3-3-3 method to combat anxiety in the moment. Look around and name three things you see. Then, identify three things you hear. Finally, move three parts of your body. Add in a three-word prayer of “God’s got this”, and she should feel some of the pressure lift!
