Girls today are savvy enough to know that there are issues that may divide even the best of friends. While they are aware of these different outlooks, what they struggle with is the awkwardness that these situations can cause.
The dead space feeling of an awkward situation can lead to anxiety and stress. Take some time to talk with your daughter about how to deal with polarizing issues, emphasizing the importance of maintaining her beliefs while being sensitive to another’s outlook.
Psalm 19:14 shares, “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” Have your daughter meditate on her words before meeting with friends in order to put her mind at ease.
